With the 2013-14 year upon us, the Rice Club Baseball team has been hard at work during fall practices, preparing for the November Wood Wars tournament in McKinney, Tx (Dallas area). We played well in this tournament last year, helping set the tone for our 20-6 (17-1) season. This spring we will go for the three-peat in NCBA DII District 7-East, and hope to get over the hump and reach the World Series.

The team has lofty goals, but will have to adjust without ace and fungo golf extraordinaire Zach Satira. As far as fungo golf goes, the alumni tour is always competitive, with living legends like Chris Brown and John Stretton hoping to continue their dominance. The current player circuit is up for grabs this year. Will preseason favorite Alex Kendall achieve glory? Perhaps a rookie will emerge and take the crown.

Whether in baseball or fungo golf, it looks to be a fun and exciting year yet again for the Rice Club Baseball team in 2013-14.
