The Owls met LSC-Montgomery Saturday for the first two games of their three game set.  Rice jumped up early with 6 runs in the top of the first, and never looked back, taking the first game 16-3.  Junior Dan Bianculli threw his second complete game victory in as many starts, allowing three earned runs.  In game one, the Owls clicked on all cylinders.  Every spot in the lineup hit the ball well, and Rice played its first error-free game of the year.

Junior Ben Lopez got the start in game two, and threw a fantastic game, giving up one unearned run in 6 innings.  Unfortunately, for the second week in a row the Owls failed to do much offensively to back him.  LSC-Montgomery would manage to push across the winning run in the bottom of the seventh to take the game 2-1.  The Owls threatened to score in almost every inning, but could not seem to catch a break with runners on base.

The teams will play the rubber game Sunday at 12:00 PM at Covenant Christian School in Conroe, TX.
