Freshman Chris Walker pitched his second complete game victory in as many starts as the Owls use an error-free defense and explosive offense to beat LSC-Montgomery 15-4.  Rice scored four runs in the first frame and never looked back, pulling ahead 8-1 by the fourth inning.  Just as soon as Montgomery closed the gap to 9-4, the Owls bats came alive for six runs in the top of the sixth inning.  Walker needed just seven pitches to set down the Montgomery hitters in order in the final frame.

Junior captain Fred Carbone finally broke out of his slump with his first hit of the season, a two-run double to the left field fence.  Junior outfielder Jeremy Goodreau had his best day as a club player, coming up with two clutch hits and very solid defense in right field.

With this series victory, the Owls move into sole possession of the District VII lead at 7-2.  They close out the season at home against UH-Downtown and in College Station at Texas A&M Corps of Cadets.
